Habitrail Ovo Pad Water Bottle?

i recently got the habitrail ovo hamster cage and it seems my syrian hamster doesnt know how to drink from it and all the bottle does is leak and get my hamster wet. also do hamsters automatically just know how to drink from the water bottles?
